The specialized chemistry lab of the Science and Technology Park of East Azarbaijan province in an appropriate area for research with over a decade of its activity in the fields of doing chemical experiments on different industrial materials and products is one of the largest providers of specialized laboratory services and modern technologies at the province level. This Specialized laboratory in close collaboration with other scientific centers such as Tabriz University has done remarkable activities in the field of performing research and semi-industrial projects (chemical pilot). The laboratory having a chemical pilot system has a vast capability for performing semi-industrial projects and for providing services to universities and industrial institutions.

The specialized chemistry lab of the Science and Technology Park of East Azarbaijan province through getting an approval certification from testing laboratories at the level of provinces and Standard and Industrial Research Institution, is active in the fields of full chemical analysis of mineral and packaged drinking waters on the base of 2441 and 6694 standards and is active in measuring of the metal elements in engine oils using atomic absorption procedure.

The specialized chemistry lab of the Science and Technology Park of East Azarbaijan province through getting a certification from trustworthy laboratories of the Environment Institution is largely active in the fields of complete analysis of sewage and industrial wastewater samples. All of the analysis results done by the laboratory in the fields of water and sewage are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency of the country.

Services provided by the chemistry lab: 
The specialized chemistry lab of the Science and Technology Park of East Azarbaijan province having particular specialized facilities in the province is ready to provide the following services to public and private organizations and companies.
  • Measurement of the elements existing in plant tissues at low amounts such as Zn, Pb, Mn, K, Fe, Cd, Cu, and so on.
  • Measurement of the elements existing in the blood serum, urine samples and liver of cow.
  • Measurement of metal elements in soil.
  • Identification of small amounts of metal elements in metals and ferrous and non-ferrous alloys 
  • Measurement of very small amounts of impure materials in precious metals like gold.
  • Measurement of different metal elements in engine oils, lubricating oils and oil products like the measurement of: Pb, Mn, K, Fe, Cd, Cu, Na, Sb, Ni, Mg, Al, Ag, Ba, Si, Ti, P.
  • Doing full testing on the samples of sewage and water like the measurement of: PH, EC,TDS, OiL, TSS, BOD, COD and so on that are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency of the country.
  • Analysis of foreign cases in providing chemical formulation to make new products.
  • Introducing new production technologies to industries.
  • Measurement of standard parameters in sanitary materials and detergents.
 
Introducing of devices: 
Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
One of the most important machines used in analytical chromatography is using High Pressed Liquid Chromatography system. In this technique the sample is forced to move along the under pressure separation column.This device has many applications in various industries such as pharmaceutical, petrochemical etc. to determine the types of cationic and anionic components and other elements.

Gas Chromatography (GC)
One of the most prominent instruments used in analytical chromatography is using gas chromatography system for samples with low boiling point. In this technique the specimen is brought to motion in the direction of the separation column under pressure. These devices have many applications in various industries such as pharmaceutical, petrochemical and so forth to determine the kinds of cations and anions and other volatile elements.

Spectrophotometer Ultraviolet / Visible
The spectrophotometer used in the specialized laboratory is Beckman made in USA which has the capability of measurement of the concentration of different elements and compounds based on colorimetric technique and turbidity measuring. This instrument in addition to using usual methods for spectroscopy has specific programs to determine the concentration of elements and compounds at ranges from micro-grams per liter to milligram per liter.
Atomic Absorption devices
One of the main instruments used in analytical chromatography is using atomic absorption system for different samples. In this technique the specimen is brought to motion in the direction of the separation column under pressure. This device which has many applications in various industries such as pharmaceutical, petrochemical and so forth is used to determine the cationic and anionic components, metal elements in water samples, engine oils, metallurgy, mineralogy, metal, geology and soils, and biological research, such as blood serum.
Water and wastewater COD measuring device:
One of the most important instruments used in the laboratory is COD measuring device which has many applications in water and wastewater samples. Since this laboratory is a trustful laboratory for the Environment Protection Agency of the country, the analysis results presented in this center are approved by the EPA of the country.

One of the most prominent devices used in the laboratory is BOD measuring device which has many applications in water and wastewater samples. Since this laboratory is a trustful laboratory for the Environment Protection Agency of the country, the analysis results presented in this center are approved by the EPA of the country.
